Eric's Birthday

Today is Eric's Birthday!! We took E.J. out for dinner for the first time. Eric got a Nebraska Baseball print to decorate his office along with some pictures of E.J. for his desk.

Both E.J. and I had our two-week doctor check-ups today. My doctor was pleased with my recovery and E.J. got a glowing report from his doctor. He is in the 95th percentile for height (22 1/2"), and 76th percentile for weight (9lbs 14 oz). He is almost back to his birthweight. The best news was from my doctor who said I should not vacuum for FOUR more weeks since it can hinder the stomach muscles as they heal. Gotta love her wisdom!! :-)

Cornhusker!

EJ went to his first party tonight. He went to the Anderson's house (head coach) for a University of Nebraska Baseball Home Run Club dinner (The Home Run Club is the Booster Club). He met all sorts of nice people and was very well behaved.
He loves his crocs from Tricia and even manages to keep them on!

Funny Face!

EJ found his nose! I couldn't resist putting this picture on the blog. It shows his fun personality!

Mommy and E.J.

I am finally feeling better from my surgery and this is what I love doing most! I have never known a love like this. E.J. is such a sweet baby and I could hold and stare at him all day long...and all night...which seems to be the case! He has brought such joy into our lives. After all we have been through we will never take him for granted!

What E.J. does best

Sleep, Cry and Cuddle...his favorite pastimes!

Meeting Forsberg

Forsberg was really sweet with E.J. He doesn't give him much attention but is very gentle when he is near. Thankfully, my parents are here and they make sure Forsberg gets fed and walked every day!!

Coming Home!

Eric loading E.J. into the truck for our ride home. He didn't cry at all and seems to really like his car seat and driving around.

Blue Light Special

Unfortunately E.J. developed a bad case of jaundice and spent two days in the continuous care nursery. It was really hard on us since we could only take him out for 30 minutes every three hours to feed him.
Good news is the treatment worked and the doctor allowed him to go home on Friday (8/17) after five days in the hospital. Since then, we have been to the doctor twice with good reports both times. He's a champ!

My first bath

Eric gave E.J. his first bath in the hospital nursery. He didn't like it very much and let everyone know it. He was, however, a favorite of the nursery nurses. They couldn't get over how big he was.

Meeting the Grandparents

Grandpa Michael thinks E.J. is one cool dude! He has already bought him his own Web site!

Meeting the Grandparents

Grandma Carol arrived from Austin the day E.J. was born. She loves holding him and singing to him.

Meeting the Grandparents

Meeting my parents while I was wheeled into the recovery room. They fell in love with him on the spot!

The proud Dad!! Eric was awesome during labor, c-section and hospital stay. I have never seen him happier!

In the OR

Welcome to the world!
After 15 hours of labor and failure to progress, I had a c-section. It's a good thing since Baby was 10 lbs 7 oz!! Here he is already showing off his set of lungs!

Eric and I at the Sunken Gardens in Lincoln. It's a beautiful park with ponds and tons of flowers. Baby EJ is 9 months along and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival.

Getting Ready for Baby EJ

In a few short days we will be adding a new family member! Today I am going to learn how to post pictures so we can get Baby EJ on the blog when we get home from the hospital.
