Home Opener

Today was the Home Opener for Nebraska Baseball and we beat UC Riverside 3-2. It was a beautiful day here in Lincoln...we hit the low 50's! Our friend Kelly came and cheered the Huskers onto victory with us. EJ had a great time but took a nap during the 8th inning when the game was 2-2, bases loaded, no outs and we struck out the side. He missed it but it was exciting baseball for the rest of us!! You can see more about the game at http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=1400962.

Stanford Weekend

This weekend was the baseball opener at Stanford. While the Huskers only won one of the three games, we had a nice weekend visiting family. EJ got to meet his great-grandpa Harold and we got some pictures of the 4 generations of Newman men. Then we had a long layover in Denver so we could have lunch with my parents. EJ was a great baby on all of our flights and he even got to sit in First Class with his dad on the flight home! The pilot gave him a post card with a picture of our aircraft and a set of gold "wings."

Pictured here: Meeting Grandpa & Grandma Fulfer at the airport in Denver, meeting Great-Grandpa Harold with Grandpa Gale, EJ & I at the first baseball game, EJ and Eric waiting to board out last flight of the weekend.

Tricia's Visit

Trish came for a long weekend and we had a great time hanging out. She loves playing with EJ and reading to him. He loved grabbing her scarf and stuffing it in his mouth. We had fun taking an "Ugg" shot with the three of us in our Ugg boots. The Uggs are super handy in the frigid temps here. It was hard to take her to the airport today but we look forward to our next visit.

Uncle Andy is Back!

Uncle Andy was in Omaha recruiting for the Cal State Fullerton Basketball team. It was a quick trip but super fun. His team is in first place in the Big West Conference with five games left. They are having a great season!

GANGSTA

Mike does not allow the baseball players to wear their hats backwards. It's a funny pet peave of his. He says, "The direction of your hates dictates the direction of your life." Since he is SO adamant about this we decided to take EJ to the team party "thugged" out. We put his Husker hat (a gift from Mike and his family) on backwards and I put all the gold jewelry I could find on him. He was also wearing a velour Adidas sweatsuit so he really looked like a rapper. When Mike saw him he really went nuts and the players loved it. The all-around favorite was the rhinestone peace sign necklace! EJ is the only one who could get away with that get-up in Mike's house!

SIX MONTHS!

EJ is six months old today! He started eating pears which was a big hit. He also has one tooth and he is a week or so away from being mobile. He will get on all fours and rock but isn't crawling yet.
We are still unpacking boxes from our move and everytime we get an empty one EJ gets a kick out of it! His other favorite activity is jumping in his jumper. He laughs and laughs and gets a great workout.

Baseball Baby!

My mom and I were in Omaha and we came across this baseball chair and ottoman. It was an impulse buy but I couldn't resist. I thought it would be a while before EJ sat in it but I was wrong...he LOVES it already!

A New Nursery

EJ never got to see the nursery I had for him in Dallas so it's been fun to make a special place for him here. After losing the crib hardware twice we finally got his crib put together and Grandma Carol gave him a beautiful dresser. Here he is in his crib for the first night in his own room.
I am so happy we are not be sharing a room with him anymore. He is only waking up once a night now. He should be sleeping through the night so we are working hard to get there. I will get more pictures posted once I can see more than just boxes!

Moving!

We were so blessed to have several of Eric's players, my parents and Uncle Andy help us move into our new house. Here are a couple shots of the players, Eric and Andy as we finished up and had chili. Thankfully, the weather was in the 40's so it was a perfect moving day. Now, my Mom is making window treatments and my Dad is changing out light fixtures and hanging pictures for me. I am having fun seeing all the clothes I had in storage that I haven't worn since before I was pregnant. It's like getting new clothes!

Uncle Andy

Uncle Andy came to visit. He had a great time with E.J. even in E.J.'s early waking hours. Then he helped us move into our new place. It was great having him here!!!
