Today was Baseball 101, a fundraiser for City Impact, an inner-city ministry here in Lincoln. Over 100 women came to learn the fundamentals of baseball from the coaches and players of Nebraska Baseball. The day included a nice lunch overlooking Memorial Football Stadium and some very fun whiffle ball games to employ all the skills we learned. It was a fun day for a great cause. In the pictures above EJ is having fun with Eric and Head Coach, Mike Anderson.

FIVE Months!!!
Hi Everyone! EJ is 5 months old now. I swear he grows and changes every day and he is more interactive than ever. His favorite activity right now is screeching at the top of his lungs. That's fun at 6:00 am when he gets us up (read: sarcasm!). Thankfully, our neighbor is 101 years old and practically deaf. She says that she can't hear him and I believe her! :-)
Speaking of neighbors, we will be getting new ones as we bought a house here in Lincoln. I am really looking forward to getting settled and getting everything out of storage. I haven't seen our "stuff" in six months! I'll put pictures up just as soon as I can. Lord willing, we will close and get the keys on Friday.
As the new year began, I reflected on 2007 and I just want to say thanks to all of you who were so generous to us last year. So many of you prayed for my pregnancy and for little E.J. every step of the way. I am truly grateful for that. When I was put on bedrest last summer I had so many meals graciously brought to our home and continued prayer from around the country. All of the baby showers and gifts were wonderful and I truly think of each person who blessed us when I use the gifts. It was such a sweet time in my life and I will forever be thankful for the love and generosity of all my friends and family. Now I just wish you were here in Lincoln with me to babysit!! ;-)
Much love, Melissa

Merry Christmas
This was a special Christmas for our family. It seems like the holidays can serve as milestones for reflection. For me, past Christmases were sad with the realization that our family hadn't expanded and then wondering if I would be a mom next Christmas. This year brought great joy and hopefully you can see our joy in the blog pictures.
Eric and I were so proud that we were actually able to put together a toy that Santa brought E.J. It took teamwork and powertools but we did it! EJ was so amazed by it as you can see by his eyes. His buddy Isaiah is coming to visit us in January so now they will have lots of fun playing together with his new toys.
Poor Forsberg was demoted from Santa to Rudolph this year but he was a good sport about it.

Christmas Eve
EJ with Grandpa John watching the sermon! He actually paid attention.
After Christmas Eve dinner, Grandma read the Christmas story. EJ learned how to turn the page. What a genius...if I do say so myself :-) He also sat up ALL by himself as he played with his new penguin santa that sings and dances! A big day for Santa EJ and a great celebration for our family. Hawaii friends
On our last day we met up with Uncle Andy's girlfriend, Kellie, and her family. They were on a Hawaiian cruise and when they got to Kauai we were able to have dinner. EJ loved them and wanted to share his pacifer with Kellie.
On the way home we were on the inaugural flight from Kauai directly to Denver. It worked out well as EJ slept the whole way. It was a great vacation and now we are ready to celebrate Christmas in Colorado!
