First Snow

The first snow of the fall hit over night. EJ has been waiting for snow so he was very excited to see the grass covered this morning when he woke up. When he saw it he asked if it was Christmas morning. After breakfast, Eric and EJ took the sled for a short spin in the grass.

Happy Halloween!

It was a fun Halloween! We had the special treat of having Grandma Carol here for the festivities. She gave him the Buzz Lightyear costume and he's been wearing it quite a bit lately. Here we are getting ready to leave for the church party.

Buzz does a lot of flying and falling down! Tinker Bell (aka Jayden) and her mom came with us to the church party. Both the kids had lots of fun playing games and winning prizes.

Once we got home from the church, EJ and Grandma took EJ trick or treating with Jayden and her dad. It was pretty chilly but they still made it home with a full bucket of candy!

Struttin' to Preschool

EJ's preschool Halloween party was today so Grandma Carol sent EJ's Buzz Lightyear costume with Uncle Brian over the weekend. It came at the perfect time so he could strut his way into his preschool galaxy. Here's some of the other kiddos as they arrived. His buddy, Will, is the shark and when EJ saw him he said, "Buzz Lightyear is going to eat the shark!"

Pumpkin Patch

EJ's preschool class was treated to a trip to the Pumpkin Patch today. It was a perfect fall day for all the Busy Bees to run, play and pick out a pumpkin. Here are some of the highlights with his teacher, friends Will and Ellie.

Another Mrs. Newman!

A BIG congratulations to Andy & Kellie who got engaged over the weekend!! We are so excited to have Kellie join our family.

Anyone who would stuff themselves into these rides for a 3 year-old is pretty darn special! I look forward to doing the same for her kiddos someday.

There will be lots more fun to come! Welcome to family, Kellie!

Dr. Kaye!

I met Kaye while working at DBU and she is so kind to host me when I go back to Dallas for work. This weekend I got to host her and her husband as she came to town to defend her doctoral dissertation at the University of Nebraska. She did a fantastic job on her research and defense and is now Dr. Shelton. We had a lovely celebration and I know God will use this in her life to do a great work in the lives of students all over the world! Congratulations Kaye!!

Kaye & Rick

We had a fun weekend with Kaye & Rick. They came bearing very special gifts for all of us. On their drive up from Texas, they stopped in Stillwater and got a catering size order of Chick-fil-a nuggets! They even found a way to keep them warm! It was like music to our mouths!

They also brought presents for EJ. The Buzz Lightyear towel is a big hit and so is the Mater Ring-O-Fire. Mater drives down the ramp and shoots through the fire ring. EJ can't get enough of it!

We caught one game of fall baseball practice. It was chilly so we bundled up and hit the ballpark. EJ had fun taunting the players with his candy. He wasn't afraid of them at all!

We capped the weekend off with a football game and a celebration dinner for Kaye's doctoral completion. A weekend filled with fun and excitment all around.

Silliness

There's been some silliness around here this fall. EJ likes to walk around wearing Eric's basketball shoes (on the wrong feet, of course).

EJ and Sammi were silly when they went to see the Cat & the Hat who was in town visiting the Barnes & Noble. Sammi wouldn't go near the Cat but she had fun waving to him at a distance! Then they both managed to sit on pumpkins!

My Little Pork Chop

EJ had his first pork chop tonight. I used to love them when I was a little girl and I have a picture just like this one as a little girl. Makes me smile.
