Royal Wedding

While we didn't get up to watch the royal nuptials live, we did have fun watching the wedding this morning when we got up. When I told EJ about the kiss, he looked and said, "Yuck!"

EJ and I had a fun Easter weekend in Denver. On Saturday we decorated Easter Eggs with Grandma Bobbie and Grandpa John.

EJ was really into his project. He knew exactly what to do and even signed his name on all the eggs he decorated.

Here's the final product! Notice how many blue ones. It was EJ's color of choice this year!

On Sunday, we celebrated with Easter baskets, Egg hunts and a nice meal at Cherry Creek Grill, my favorite! EJ really understood the egg hunt concept this year and even wanted a turn "hiding" the eggs.

Here's EJ making funny faces on the car ride to dinner.

Here we are at dinner. EJ had salmon, roast beef and mashed potatoes! A nice break from mac & cheese!

We hope you had a great holiday with your loved ones!

Easter Basket Cupcakes

EJ and I came across a picture of Easter basket cupcakes that we loved so we recreated them for preschool today. While not as professional looking as a bakery might accomplish, they were a hit with EJ's class!

EJ loves being snack helper. He was so proud of his snack today!

Weekend Fun

We had a fun weekend with Uncle Andy and the Sorenson Family. Andy came through town on a recruiting trip and the Sorenson's were here for a weekend visit. Andy finally got to play with the basketball hoop he and Kellie got EJ for Christmas.

We went to baseball games and the kids had a blast. They loved playing on the field with Eric after the game.

EJ had a Little Lamb

EJ has a special little lamb. I bought it two months before he was born because it was so sweet. Over the past year EJ has really attached to it. He sleeps with it so when we went on a road trip with Eric last week, "Lamby" came along. Unfortunately, Lamby was dropped in the hallway at the hotel when we were leaving and I didn't notice.

The next day I called the hotel and the head of housekeeping said that one of the housekeepers rescued the lamb from a rugby team who had checked into the hotel and used him as a pull toy in the hallway. She went on to tell me that another housekeeper had already taken Lamby home to mend him because she knew that he was special to a little child and the mom would be calling. Sure enough, she was right. Once he was good as new, they FedExed Lamby back to us. EJ knew that Lamby was flying home to us in a white box. He was ecstatic when the box arrived.

It was a sweet reunion and Lamby has his rightful place back by EJ side at bedtime.

Birthday Fun

I had a fun birthday this year. A big thanks to all my sweet friends who sent cards and texts. It was great having my parents here to celebrate. EJ helped make my birthday cake. He really liked adding candles and sprinkles.

Here he is checking out the birthday hats.

The boys had a "Bachelor" moment when they handed me roses and cards. EJ was so cute and knew exactly what to do though he's never seen the show!

Jeff and Andi came over for cake and it's a good thing we all had our cake first because EJ finished off the remainder...of frosting that is! It's a great way to not have cake around your house for days...let a 3 year-old lick the whole top of the cake. It quickly loses it's appeal!

It was fun to celebrate with Jeff & Andi. I also got a photo with my mom but not my dad. He must've been the one taking all the photos.

Spring Baseball

It started to warm up here (it's currently freezing) so we've had some fun games at Haymarket Park. EJ is much more comfortable with the players this year. Here he is playing with Corey Burleson.

Once Eric's duties were done, EJ got to play baseball with him.

A swing and a miss!

Chicken Ranch

It was time to take the preschool baby chicks to their new home. Grandma Bobbie came to town last night so she was able to come along. We ventured out to Hickman, Nebraska to a lovely acerage that raises chickens. Here's Miss Deb transferring the chicks to their new home.

Here we are saying goodbye to our fuzzy friends.

I think that their conversation went like this: "Hey, check out these new digs! We got a sun lamp, lots of food and no more little kids squeezing us till we 'Peep'! Awesome!"

Next we moved on to the older chickens. Some of these are a year old. It's amazing how much they grow in such a short time.

Here's the daddy. He was bigger and more vocal than all the hens.

The kids had lots of fun acting like chickens! They climbed all around the barn and ran around with the chickens. We had to be careful not to chase them too much or they won't lay their eggs!

Some final pictures in front of the neat red barn. We will miss the chicks and had so much fun with the whole experience. EJ's preschool teacher is really incredible.
